We are honored to have the follow Professionals serve on our training team as Life Loss Educators
Valeria Bustillos, holds BA degrees in Elementary Education and Spanish with a MA in Education with a focus in Reading. She is a retired Elementary Education teacher after 34 years and currently is an instructor in a kinder readiness program. Ms. Bustillos has extensive experience as a Bereavement Ministry and trains lay ministers in Consolation Ministry programs.
Deylyne McCampbell is an ordained Minister and holds the degrees of Master in Counseling, Doctorate of Philosophy, and Doctorate of Christian Counseling. Pastor McCampbell has extensive experience in the areas of individual, family, and marriage counseling. He has worked with the homeless, in the foster care system, and with professionals in the field of social work. Pastor McCampbell is well versed in the area of bereavement, and in supporting families in crisis.
Joyce Forest holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration with an abundance of experience teaching adults, focusing on adult learning styles and interest. She has also served as a college professor at the local Community Colleges and University. Additional experience includes soft skills trainings to after school staff and professionals in the foster care system.
Deborah Jones is an ordained minister and holds the degrees of Bachelors of Arts (BA) in Sociology and Business Administration, Master of Public Administration (MPA) and Clinical Ministry. Deborah has extensive experience working with hurting women, youth, corporate and hospital chaplaincy, grief recovery and aftercare, and crisis intervention
Magdaline Harris holds a Master Degrees in Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). She has experience counseling children, adults, couples and families, with extensive knowledge of the foster youth population. Ms. Harris has also trained individuals on topics related to building trust and rapport with children in foster care, and has led workshops and support groups related to grief and loss.
Dr. Craig Luke holds a doctorate in Counseling and counsels children, adults and couples in private practice. He is a Professor in Psychology and Counseling and a member of Pastors on the Premises serving as a liaison to students, faculty and parents on school campuses.
Dr. Lori Caruthers Collins holds a Doctorate and Masters degree in Education and has over 30 years experience in K-12 schools. Dr. Caruthers Collins has worked extensively with families by providing information and training on increasing the academic success of their children and improving parent
engagement.
Lisa Romero holds a Master of Social Work degree and is a Medical Social Worker. Ms Romero is the Family Readiness Group Coordinator for her husband’s Unit. Ms Romero and her family have experienced two, year long, deployments, as a spouse of a service member in the Army National Guard, during the War on Terrorism. Ms Romero's husband recently started his third, year long, deployment. Ms Romero has two young school age children and has extensive knowledge of available resources for military families, especially during times of deployment.
The director of The Stephan Center is Victoria Stephan. Ms. Stephan holds an MA in Counseling and brings 35 years of experience in the field of children's and social services to the agency. She has been instrumental in defining the agency's infrastructure, developing the training components, assisting the Board in appropriate decisions and direction, and in coordinating trainer interaction. Ms. Stephan represents The Stephan Center at community collaborations.

Our trainers are direct, to the point, and easy to understand. They share the information that helps anyone dealing with life losses, or working with others who are going through transition. The feedback from our previous training sessions gives us the confidence to move forward with this important program, with the goal of making the knowledge and techniques available to anyone active in the fields of bereavement ministry, social work, counseling, and education.
